Because the tappet performs a very fast reciprocating motion inside the gearbox, high standards are required for properties such as high dimensional accuracy, rigidity, wear resistance, and high durability. Laylax recognizes this and created an improved tappet plate to keep up with the stress of modern gearboxes.

In order to satisfy these standards, they adopted POM material which has optimal physical properties of resin materials. By reviewing the size and shape of each part, they aimed to improve feeding performance and stabilize the speed of the BB's.

The front face (nozzle end) of the tappet plate is straight and rests at a 90-degree angle unlike most other tappet plates on the market. The front face is also reinforced.

Note: this Prometheus New Gen Tappet Plate is not compatible with the Siegetek Concepts Sector Gear enhanced tappet cam. If this Tappet is used with Siegetek Sector cams, the curved hook portion of the tappet will have to be trimmed for proper function. A standard Tokyo-Marui Tappet plate can be used as a reference.

I’ve been building airsoft guns for 3 years now. I’ve finally built a gun that couldn’t feed no matter what tappet plate I threw at it. This was the solution. This tappet plate has a rather unorthodox fin geometry that works perfectly with the gun I was working on. If you’re building a gun, chances are an SHS or Guarder tappet plate will work fine. If not, this could be the solution.
