The special cooling groove design is added to the exterior to effectively dissipate the heat caused by friction between the piston and cylinder. Moreover, the interior of the cylinder is polished to stabilize the muzzle velocity and to create a superb air seal.

Hard to describe how perfect this cylinder is. My one piece aluminum cylinder head with a double o-ring took some light mallet hammering to snugly fit into the top, ensuring a perfect, lasting seal with no Teflon tape required what-so-ever. Both ends are crowned which means your o-rings won't get snagged or pinched on the outside. I'm getting a flawless compression seal with an x-ring on my piston head. Undoubtedly the highest quality piston available today.
