product details
Manufacturer notes: The Warhead BASE motor is designed to be a cheaper alternative to its older brother, the CNC black version. It is available in FOUR different speeds in both long and short shaft variants.

The motor is fully compatible with a host of ETU's and MOSFETs including brands such as Jeftron, Gate and Perun.

Brushless DC motors have no brushes to get worn out -- they represent a huge leap forward in technology. Brushless output gives significantly higher efficiency and performance, and have a lower susceptibility to mechanical wear than their brushed counterparts.

Brushless motors offer several other advantages, including;

- Higher torque to weight ratio
- Increased torque per watt of power input (increased efficiency)
- Increased reliability and lower maintenance requirements - Reduced operational and mechanical noise
- Longer lifespan (no brush and commutator erosion)
- Elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator (ESD)
- Near-elimination of electromagnetic interference (EMI)

This advanced brushless motor boasts some impressive features:

- High-quality magnets - CNC shaft cover with EZO bearing
- High-quality speed controller
- Replaceable speed controller
- High-quality D-type pinion gear
- Replaceable parts
- 20K RPM at 11.1v

This motor has a cast aluminum base and machine-wound rotor.

Important installation notes Professional installation required. A 1.27mm hex key driver is required for installing the pinion gear. A small amount of slip-fit (green 638 recommended) threadlocker should be used to prevent pinion slippage. Threadlocker should not enter the bearing area and should have time to cure before using the motor.

Do NOT use a pinion pull/press tool for installing the pinion gear. This will destroy the electronics inside, unless the motor is properly disassembled and desoldered. Proper fitting of the AEG pistol grip plate is required.

Please take care when fitting your AEG's motor connectors to the tabs on the motor. These are soldered directly to the PCB inside the motor and they are more fragile than those on a standard brushed motor. Care should be taken not to bend them outwards or hyper extend them as this may result in them breaking.

Important MOSFET settings

We have spent a significant amount of time designing our motor to be compatible with as many third-party MOSFETs and electronic trigger units as possible.

For optimal performance with our motor, we recommend using the following settings across all brands of ETU and mosfets alike.

Please refer to each section below when setting up your AEG with our motor. For more information or to check compatibility please send us an email on info@warheadindustries.com or direct message us on Facebook.com/warheadindustries. Settings explained in further detail here: https://www.warheadindustries.com/suggested-mosfet-settings

The warhead motor you've heard of, and it's not utterly perfect like they'd like you to believe. With instant response to maximum speed this motor does deliver quick response, however pay heed to the RPM rating of the motor. If you want *trigger response* you also need RPM. Brushless motors provide torque regardless of speed, and this motor is good, but earlier in my teching career I bought this particular motor thinking torque was all you needed. Now I can say that is not the case and required paring with a 13:1 gearset, the ezo J-caged bearings sold here on Brill Armory, and high precocking to the point of nearly double firing on semi to get instant trigger response. If you're looking for super snappy trigger response with little effort, this isn't the motor without some knowhow but it can be done. It is a good motor. It does exactly what it says, however, it has some compatibility issues: -It doesn't work with some FCUs and inline mosfets -It is not fully compatible with ROF controls; you will get a reduced effect instead of what you are looking for. -Your pinion to bevel shimming must be near perfect or you will destroy the pinion and/or bevel gear teeth due to the motor's very high torque output. I had to learn how to get mine better after I shredded the pinion that came with the motor. If you're looking for a simple motor replacement that will save you battery and work mechanically with any setup you can throw at it, this motor will work. The gearbox shell or gears will likely break before this thing stops turning.
