The cylinder is built using a high density heat treated steel. The special cooling groove design is added to the exterior to effectively dissipate the heat caused by friction between the piston and cylinder. Moreover, the interior of the cylinder is polished to stabilize the muzzle velocity and to create a superb air seal.
