This Piston uses a strong plastic which is even tougher than some Nylon Fiber reinforced pistons. I suspect that these Prometheus Pistons are made of polyacetal copolymer, but I will have to consult a plastics expert for clarification. (I will update this description once I find out)

The pickup tooth is very beefy, and all of the teeth are heavily reinforced. Adjusting AoE on this piston can be a lengthy process.

The rack is full-metal and thoroughly heat treated. The racks take quite a bit of force to pry out of the Piston, and the Piston body has support which prevents the rack from caving in.

I highly recommend this Piston for high FPS DMR's and high speed SSG's. I also recommend lightening this piston if you are using it for high speed. For comparison, this piston is a few grams lighter than the Lonex Red.

Interestingly, these Prometheus Hard Pistons were first made in 2004. Many Chinese companies have cloned this Piston, but they haven't even come close to replicating the same quality as the original. This is because Laylax uses superior quality materials in all of their Piston molds; as well as precise machining and QC.

When my vfc stock piston broke, I replaced it with one of these. And after using a lipo with no mosfet after about 2 years, my contacts burned off so I openned the gearbox again and re-tuned it all. Here's my overall feedback for this piston: -Yes, I understand $35 is a lot for a piston, but if you want to install it and not worry about it again, then its worth it. I have used this piston for over 25k rounds in a stock gearbox (no AOE correction, or any tuning of any sort) and it only came out slightly scratched. -After tune-up, the piston ran for another 10k before I messed up and broke the piston. It broke due to I did not disengage the AR latch before openning the gearbox and the spring moving forward cracked the 4th tooth. -Contrary to the description, AOE correction is not difficult at all, using a razor blade and just shaving off alittle at a time is no problem. -Even after breaking the 4th tooth, I continued to use the piston, and it ran fine. After about another 2k rounds my new piston came in so I finally retired the piston. -I used an aluminum piston head and an m120 spring (20rps & 410fps), after its 3 years of usage it was moderately scratched, cracked on the front face, and its first three teeth damaged (either aoe cut or cracked). YET it still ran, relatively consistently. Bottomline: SO if you're looking for a piston that is extremely tough and reliable, then look no further.
