product details

The Lonex Red Piston is a dependable performer and has many favorable design choices that most Airsmiths look for. For one, this Piston has a tooth omitted for AoE correction. The teeth are reinforced on both sides, and the Pickup tooth is nice and bulky. These Pistons also go through more strict QC and manufacturing than some ACM manufacturers.

Another interesting feature is the presence of Nylon pickup teeth instead of a full metal rack. Although rare, AEG's can suffer from compression jams and other unforeseen mishaps. If that happens with this Lonex Piston, the Piston will likely strip which can save the Gear set from crashing.

Material: Glass fiber filled Nylon
Piston weight: (not to be confused with shipping weight!): 19.2 grams

I'm not very pleased with this piston, it's definitely not worth the price IMO. Lonex makes very good air seal and hop-up parts, but they don't seem to do a good job with drivetrain parts. This piston is manufactured with good tolerances, but it's not very durable. The steel teeth are very durable, but the plastic teeth are too soft and wear down too quickly. It will work very well as a replacement piston for a stock AEG, but it's not durable enough for high performance setups. If this piston had a full steel teeth rack it would probably be significantly more durable and would have been a viable option to SHS or CYMA steel teeth pistons.

I've had an excellent experience with this piston. I corrected for AOE a bit more by taking a little off of the second and third plastic teeth. After two thousand rounds in full auto at 14RPS over a four hour game the piston is flawless and barely has a scratch on it.

I love!! lonex and have never had a bad part untill now. I have worked on guns for many years now and this is the only piston that ive seen fail without help from the user. I put this in my brothers m4 just so i wouldnt have to take it apart for a while i did however take it apart do to feeding so you could say maybe 100 rotations before i took it back apart and when i did i found that the 3,4 and 5th teeth had serious wear so i figured maybe a meshing broblem with the gears but the piston was still somewhat good so later i put it in an ak and that's when it got wrecked the pickup tooth on the piston was gone. I only had an m120 in the m4 and a m140 in the ak. I had perfect aoe in both its not pre engagement becuase the stock 1metal tooth held up perfectly fine no wear at all for months. I hope this helps some one, if your getting a piston go for SHS or better retro arms.
